In many cases, we do not always like the latest version of the application due to some unstable factors and bugs. So when you regretted the upgrade, downgrade will be your only choice. However, Apple’s iTunes and App Store do not support the app downgrade. Seems we can only seek some help from jailbreak tweak.
App Admin is new cydia tweak, which is a brand new method allows you to downgrade iPhone’s App to the previous/old version.
App Admin tweak allows you to easily downgrade almost any one app to any older version that you’d like in just a couple of minutes without going through complex steps. It keeps track of all the versions available for an app and lets you choose the one that you’d like to downgrade to.
The tweak is currently in beta but available for download from the following Cydia source: http://beta.unlimapps.com/
. You can add this source in the Cydia Store for installing.
Once you installed the App Admin tweak, it will be enabled by default, you’ll be prompted to downgrade to previous versions of all of your favorite apps when downloading from the App Store.
To downgrade an app, launch the App Store and search for the app or look for it in the Updates tab. Now tap on the Update/Open/Download button and you’ll be prompted to downgrade it to an older version. The tweak provides a list of the versions an app can be downgrade to but if you don’t find a specific version in the list then you can tap on the + button and enter it manually.
You also have the ability to go way back in time by providing the version number of the app you wish to downgrade. This version number can be obtained via the app’s iTunesMetadata.plist in /private/var/mobile/Containers/Bundle/Application/.
Once you choose the package version, the app will be automatically downgraded from the App Store to the selected version.
