Once upon a time, factory unlock an iPhone is a very difficult thing. And Apple usually starts selling factory unlocked iPhones one or two months after the launch. However this has changed right now. Currently you can easily factory unlock your newly purchased iPhone 6s and iPhone 6s Plus with iTunes, the only prerequisite of this is you have paid in full.
The unlock steps also very simple and easily understood, but still some things you should noted before unlocking. To unlock your iPhone:
- You must have paid for the device outright, and in full
- You must have purchased it directly from Apple, not a carrier store (if anyone can verify it works on carrier store purchases, we’ll update, but I can’t confirm this)
- Now we have confirmed the paid in full iPhone 6s and iPhone 6s Plus from T-Mobile and AT&T is unlocked and working on Cricket
How to Unlock iPhone 6s and iPhone 6s Plus
Step 1: Turn ON your new iPhone 6s or 6s Plus.
Step 2: Plug your iPhone into the computer and launch iTunes.
Step 3: Follow the carrier activation prompts with the SIM that came with the new iPhone installed.
Step 4: You will see an unlocked message confirming that your device is unlocked.
Once you see the unlocked message, you can either continue with a restore via iTunes or you can unplug and restore via iCloud as you normally would.
T-Mobile’s version is essentially an unlocked iPhone as well as it comes unlocked out of the box. That’s true, but if you’re planning to use the unlocked iPhone in another country then it may be a good idea to check if your iPhone model supported by the carriers in your country by clicking this link.
