Recently, some 9.7-inch iPad Pro users that upgraded to iOS 9.3.2 are seeing their devices bricked and inaccessible, with an “Error 56” notification.
The device bricked. And it can not be restored or updated using into iTunes, just a big loop.
For this Error 56 message after installing the update, Apple has provided an official statement about the issue, where it says that affected customers should contact Apple support.
We’re looking into a small number of reports that some iPad units are receiving an error when updating the software,” an Apple spokesperson told iMore. “Those unable to restore their device through iTunes should contact Apple support.”
Apple has set up a Genius Bar appointment with the affected customers who reported about the problem.
Here’s Apple’s official comment on the matter:
“We’re working on a fix for an issue impacting a small number of iPad units that are receiving an error when trying to update the software. We’ll issue an update as quickly as possible”
